Sajjad joined Salford Conservative members in Ellesmere Park for a Brunch to raise money for the upcoming local and general election campaigns and to discuss priorities for the local area.
Hosted by Chairman Anne Broomhead and husband Andrew, it was all hands on deck in the kitchen as a constant stream of delicious fry ups were consumed by a flow of hungry guests.
Saj enjoyed catching up with friends, including Candidate for Worsley and Eccles South, local Councillor Iain Lindley and Worsley Councillor Chris Clarkson who is our Candidate in Wallasey.
Iain Lindley commented: “I’m very grateful to everyone who helped to make the event a success and especially to our special guest, Sajjad Karim MEP”
“Saj has always been a great friend to Salford Conservatives and as our MEP he is a fantastic advocate and ambassador for the City as a whole. We know he always stands up for Salford”.
Saj spoke about the election saying: “I am delighted that local Conservative Salford counsellors Iain Lindley and Chris Clarkson are both fighting seats in the North West. They are both hard working conscientious campaigners who will always speak up for those they represent.
“With just a few short weeks to go it’s down to us all to push hard and remind friends, relatives and all electors what a economic melt down we inherited from Labour and just how far we how much we have achieved in the past 5 years. Yes, their is much more to do but our economy is now the envy of our European partners and the rest of the world.
“In this election, more than ever before, every vote will make a real difference to the outcome – to just what sort of Government we will have after 7th May. We need to ensure a majority Conservative Government. Nothing less will secure our future. We can’t risk a slide back to the bad old days of Labour”.
