Constituency Manager – Sue Gillett
Prior to taking up her role as Sajjad’s Constituency Manager in August 2010, Sue was Regional Director for the Conservative Party in the North West. Her work for the Conservatives followed several years in marketing including working for Dunlop, Smiths Industries Group and North Wales Newspapers.
With wide ranging experience in business, communications and the political spectrum across the North West, Sue co-ordinates all aspects of Saj’s role as Member of the European Parliament in the North West, managing the UK organisation and ensuring good lines of communication across the region and with Brussels.
UK Assistant David Hopps
David has been working for Sajjad since January 2010 and is responsible for dealing with Sajjad’s constituency casework as well as undertaking any research relevant to his role as a Member of the European Parliament for the North West of England. David also works closely with Sajjad and Sue on UK media and newsletters.
European Parliament Parliamentary Assistant – Kaoutar Abousmir
Kaoutar first came to the Parliament as Pat Cox Humanity in Action Fellow and joined “Team Karim” after graduating both in Political Science and French Law. She had gained prior experience working in North Africa, notably working for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Now running Sajjad’s Parliamentary Office in Brussels, Kaoutar provides key parliamentary support to all aspects of Sajjad’s work in the European Parliament, effectively co-ordinating all behind-the-scenes work necessary to enable Members to deliver their role.
