Saj is keen to visit, as often as possible, the 76 constituencies spanning accross the North West region and works his hardest to ensure that peoples' interests are truly represented on the European Stage.
Please have a look at the photos below to see just some of the work that Saj has been doing in his constituency.
Saj visited the MDHC (Mersey Docks and Harbour Comany) Docks in Liverpool before he challenged the European Parliament Ports Directive.

Saj visited students at Chester University to discuss their future prospects. Saj is keen to promote the opportunity for students to live and study abroad. Please visit the 'Making Europe work for you' page to find out more about opportunities to study abroad in the European Union.
Saj, as the first Parliamentarian in Europe to raise CIA extraordinary renditions in the European Parliament, campaigned hard with his constituents at Manchester Airport to pressure Manchester City Council into preventing the Airport from ever being used in rendition flights.

Saj regularly speaks at mosques throughout the North West. Here, Saj is in Warrington at the Jamia Mosque engaging with his constituents.

David and Saj are welcoming Councillor Faraz Bhatti to the party at Manchester Town Hall. What a break through for the Conservative Party in the North West!
To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of the European Union, Saj launched a competition in schools across the North West to design a logo to celebrate the occasion. This picture shows Saj choosing the winner.

So many of Sajjad's constituents contact him asking him to fight for animal rights in the European Parliament. He is a firm believer in animal rights and has campaigned tirelessly in the European Parliament to protect animal rights and to end experiments on primates.

Saj is keen to visit schools in the North West to inform students about the his work within the EU and the EU's respective institutions. A teacher at a primary school in Clitheroe told Saj that "learning about the history of the EU was a really valuable experience for all the children that we have all been able to apply to our curriculum. News about Europe has since become a very important feature in our weekly news slot."
Saj continues to reflect the views and build upon the work put in by colleagues in the North West, in Westminster, in the local parties and Councils. Saj always seeks to take forward their initiatives and gain support for their ideas.
The protection and safety of Saj's constituents is of paramount importance to him. Just over two and a half years ago, Carlisle faced devastating rains which over-topped defences, forcing thousands from their homes, flooding hundreds of businesses and killing two elderly women immediately.
Saj immediately and extensively lobbied the EU for funding for the North West under the Rapid Response and Preparedness Instrument. The government had less than ten weeks to apply for this aid and missing out on it would clearly hinder efforts to rebuild our damaged towns and villages.
More EU funds need to be invested in areas like Carlisle so we can implement new strategies for flood management, like the 'Making Space for Water,' urban drainage pilots, in order to investigate how the threat of floods can be better managed in the future, where ever they may occur.
The EU must put its citizens in the best position to prepare, prevent and respond to the natural disasters we all now face. It is crucial that there is sharing of best practice in flood management among EU countries, in the light of the severe flooding that hit the UK.
